If you are promoting certain products on your website, it is important for your potential customers to be able to locate your website easily. This is more probable if your website or blog has a high page rank number. SeoQuake is good tool to use and it is free.
You could achieve 2 things with a page rank number:
- Find out how highly regarded your webpage is in the eyes of Search Engines
- Find out who are your strongest competitors
First, go to www.SeoQuake.com to download the free plugin. At the point of this writing, SeoQuake only supports Firefire, Chrome and the Safari browsers. I will be using Firefox as an example here.
After the installation, you will be required to restart the browser. After that, go to “Tools > SeoQuake > Preferences”
Under the Parameters tab, deselect all except for the first row:

Then move on to the Advanced Tab. Input 2000ms delay (this is to prevent a “ban” from Google and other sites if your request through SeoQuake is too high) and leave the box checked for “Use Cache”:

And that’s it. Turn on SeoQuake whenever you need to know the page rank of a certain site when you perform a search in Google or other Search Engines.

Thank you for the information-very useful as I was having trouble with asked to fill out a verification from google in the middle of my searches! This should help.

Nice article and well explained for a newbie like me. But do Google throws a ban for using seoquake plugins?
If you “abuse” it, Google could “ban” you for a short period of time, but never permanent.
